If You're Getting Married in 2020, READ THIS NOW!

I like to joke that the only way anyone will see me running is if something is chasing me; however, I am going to implore you to run, run, RUN to a reputable agency and purchase wedding insurance NOW!!

COVID-19 has absolutely thrown a wrench into an innumerable amount of weddings and events that were scheduled to take place during our now-quarantine. It's heartbreaking. It's disappointing. It's expensive. Some couples are, instead of postponing their wedding, cancelling it altogether. This means that more than likely, those deposits (and potentially even a chunk of the payments after deposit) are gone. Money lost. Sad, sad, sad. Nobody wants that!

Ensure a happy day so that you and your honey walk into marriage with as much joy as Jamie and Tim (above). Protect yourselves + your day with some solid wedding insurance!

We typically see couples purchase wedding insurance last minute! They will wait until the month-of to get their coverage, IF they do, and usually because their venue or other major vendor requires it.

Do NOT wait until the last minute. There is no telling how long these social-distancing guidelines and/or enforced quarantines will last, and if your wedding is scheduled today - onward thorough at least the end of 2020, you need to remember your date is at risk. Ease that anxiety by purchasing your wedding insurance now.

If you purchase it now, you could potentially avoid disasters, such as:

1. Venue closing or act of God (tornado, fire, flood) that takes your venue out of the picture

2. Cancellations due to coronavirus - this will vary by policy/vendor, but it is still valuable to obtain given that there could be another surge in the fall.

3. Rental item coverage - rental items left at the venue overnight and damaged (floor, fire, tornado) or stolen

Some other coverage to consider:

-Gift Coverage

-Ring Coverage

That said, these types of policies are not new. They didn't come about solely for financial protection against Coronavirus in the event that it impacts your wedding day. We always, always, ALWAYS recommend that our couples purchase insurance to protect their wallets, peace of mind, and most importantly, their big day.

We are not currently promoting any particular insurance carriers; however, we would encourage you to talk to your local agents about whether or not they have policies to accommodate, or if they know of someone who does! Have any questions, comments, ideas, or maybe you need some help through your wedding planning process? Please don’t hesitate to contact us at hello@xoeventco.com. We would absolutely love to help you make all your wedding day dreams come true!
